Of course you are a coach, what else would you be? You could down the lines of what you call yourself exactly; coach, teacher, educator, mentor, etc. My point is that when it comes to work, you are a coach, so that should be the thing that gets your time and attention. Unfortunately, particularly in S&C this isn't always the case.
Jack of all, master of none
Unless you work at a top end club, you most likely fit the box of physio, sports scientist, performance analyst and... your actual job, Strength and Conditioning Coach. On the one hand this is great as you get to experience multiple different aspects of performance and gain understanding of each discipline. However, it can also mean that you become a jack of all trades and a large amount of time gets taken away from the thing you're meant to be doing, coaching.
So, what do I do?
Essentially you need to find way to allow yourself to give your time and attention to those things that matter most. In my opinion, the best ways to do this are by streamlining your process' and automating as much as you can. When it comes to establishing your process and streamlining it, the best thing to do is Keep It Simple Stupid (KISS). You may have seen the KISS acronym used before, it carries over to a lot of life!
By making sure you know what you are looking for, then presenting it in a clear and digestible format will save you hours of needless work.
One of the main pillars of everything I do with Strength Coach Nause is to always remember "You are a Coach". This is what you do, so give it the time it deserves. It's important to also remember that this applies to work, not your social life. You are a coach but before that, you are a human with a life, friends, family, and hobbies. Streamlining your work and focusing on being a coach, will allow you to switch off and focus on those things outside of work too!
